From an early age, our son Connor was adventurous, determined and on the go. He took his first steps before the age of 1. BMX racing and hockey were his early sporting passions, and his love for the outdoors fueled his adventures in hunting, fishing and camping. After completing high school he earned a bachelor’s degree in Business and Finance at the University of North Dakota (UND). He started his career in Minneapolis. The flexibility of remote work allowed him to make a bold decision in November 2020 to move to Colorado. This gave him the opportunity for hunting, fishing, camping, biking, motorcycling and immersing himself in his passions. Connor became an avid trout fisherman and found joy in riding his motorcycle through the breathtaking mountainous landscapes.
Connor was known for his competitive nature and goal-oriented mindset. A sticky note near his desk declared his aspiration to become a full-time trader by August 30, 2027. Beyond this remarkable drive, Connor possessed a genuine and caring soul, always ready to support his friends when they needed it. He effortlessly made friends wherever he went.
In September 2021, Connor faced a challenging period in his life, grappling with issues such as financial obligations, relationships and personal struggles. During this time, there was an alarming incident where he expressed thoughts of ending his life. However, through extensive conversations and support, we believed he was on a positive path, with Connor assuring us that things were fine and that he had bigger goals to pursue and we had no reason not to believe him. Connor took steps to seek help and we grew increasingly confident in his well-being. He reassured us that he was fine and had greater goals to strive for, dismissing that night as a temporary moment of despair. We remained in regular contact and visited him often, unaware of the inner battles he was fighting. Sadly, on December 23, 2022, Connor made an impulsive decision to take his own life, leaving his family devastated and confused. We feel if Connor would have reached out and talked to someone, he would be with us today.
By sharing Connor’s story, we hope to raise awareness about the importance of seeking help, reaching out and showing kindness. We emphasize the significance of reaching out to others, as a simple smile or supportive gesture can make a profound difference. We cherish the memory of Connor and in his own words:
"Make it a Great Day”
